A Tour Of Our Local Hospital

The school brought Chloe for a tour of our local hospital and of course – the kid came back with loads of questions for us. From why there are rack mount in the hospital to all about the lab and what she saw in the lab. And of course the baby rooms where all the babies were kept after the babies were born. So like any parents – we try to explain all the details to her – as far as we know how.

It’s amazing that school are so proactive in showing kids everything around them – from apple farm to museums and the firefighter’s office – I would enjoy it tremendously too if I was a kid all over again. Back home every excursion the school arranges- we had to pay for them – and also we had to bring our own food for lunch and break time. But not here in Canada – everything is paid for by the school and even the school buses arranged are all paid for – so yes! Canadian students are definitely much more lucky, therefore, it would be hard for me to think of bringing Chloe home and having her study in Singapore where the competition is a lot more competitive than around here – it’s pretty relax mode over here in Canada.

Winter Camp

Thank God for winter camp this year – because Chloe had 3 weeks of holidays from school – right before Christmas and then after. Chloe’s grammie was going to take her like twice a week but she got a cold right after Christmas and couldn’t take her. Also, this time round – Chloe had decided to stay for lunch instead of having her to bring her back and send her back to camp after lunch. So yes! thank God for Winter camp – and hopefully, they do it again next year – because it sure helped us a lot since we were so busy during Christmas time. On the last day of Winter camp – I gave the camp counselors some food vouchers from a local restaurant here to thank them for taking care of Chloe. Yes, we do have to pay for camp – but it’s always nice to show our appreciation in different ways.

Not Too Cold Yet – Scary

Every year around this time – the weather is already horrid – but this year – we haven’t seen much snow – in fact there are days I just have my sweater on – and nothing else. So you can imagine how scary I am now – because Winter has just began – and we haven’t seen much of anything as of yet. Plus you and I know that weather doesn’t turn good till about May here. So if it ain’t starting yet – when is it going to end? I’m not complaining and even though today is really cold – it’s still better than getting a snow storm or a blizzard right? the water on the ground had turned to ice over night – but pretty calm still. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Happy New Year 2011

Happy New Year everyone! and especially those who’ve followed this blog for a long time. So what happened to 2010? Well, first off – I quit going on facebook so much – and stopped going on msn as much too. Mostly, because I want to spend more time with Chloe and with my work – because I found that I wasn’t doing such a great job on both. Plus, I wanted a quality life – not just one that goes on and on about other people. I want to concentrate on taking care of my own first – and if my friends think that I’m being selfish and inconsiderate – than I can’t help it – after all, you can’t please everyone eh.

For the year of 2011, I want more of the same of 2010 – more quiet – more quality in my life and more work is good too but less drama – and in order to do that – I’ll have to “bochup” in a lot of things. For example, the no ferry situation in this town got me all worked up at the end of the year – when they announced it on FB and I was all geared up to write on the mayor’s FB – but I deleted the message/comment after writing it – because what was the point right? You think the mayor is gonna get all upset because I was upset – he wasn’t doing his job well – nor did I think the town councilors were? Fat hope they are going to lose any sleep on it. “shrug” so yes! i deleted it – and decided “what the heck” as long as PB’s business is doing well – and we continue to strive and do well – provide the best deals for our customers – and we get all our bills paid on time – that’s all that matters – and most importantly – i won’t be wasting my time.

So there you have it! have i turned complacent? I don’t think so – I’m just making use of my time wisely – and choosing my battles. What about you?
