Off Season Shopping

I never used to shop only when things are at a good price till the spouse owned a business and of course after having a child. Both comes with great responsibility and both requires that I become sensible and look out for deals when I buy stuff. Of course, that doesn’t mean that I short change myself with the quality of the things I buy – so I buy things that are off season. Like now – the spring stuff are out and men’s running shorts are what I should be buying for the spouse – but instead I would buy the winter leftover now and wait till summer before I buy the running shorts for him. That way I know that I will still be getting the same shorts but at a better deal – in fact – because of the better deal – I usually buy more than 1. Same with Chloe’s clothing – now her snow pants are like 50% off – and I buy a size bigger for next year – and same with her Christmas dresses. What about you? do you do the same ? or am I the only cheap charlie?

Bad Words

We own a store and we see many kids come thru’ our store and some does have a foul mouth – and it seems that their parents can’t do anything about it. I told PB we should count our blessings – because Chloe knows – that there are “bad words” on tv and wants us to shut the show off when it is on TV. So what makes our kid different from the kids who comes into our store screaming profanity at their parents? I sat down and thought about it.

Kids knows what is right and wrong – even from a very young age – you have to give them enough credit for it. And to say that your kid don’t know better – it is just an excuse. The reason why Chloe doesn’t repeat the bad words and wants us to shut the show down – when she hears something bad is because we as parents – are appalled by foul languages and we showed it – therefore Chloe quickly picked up from us – and knows that it’s a bad thing to even listen to foul languages – much more repeat it. So the kids who shouts profanity at their parents at our store – must have parents shouting the same – at their kids at home or other places – therefore – the kids do the same to their parents when the need arises and they don’t get their way. So parents – be careful – how you talk to your kids – because what they become – is what you are now.

Every Woman’s New Year Resolution

And it’s true isn’t it – we want to lose some weight and look our best for the new year. And more so for me – since I saw my neighbor at the grocery store today – looking fabulous! boy ! do i envy! time to get the best weight loss pills and make sure I look as fabulous for the two weddings I have to attend this year. After all, I hate going for weddings and having my pictures taken and looking like a whale. No fun at all – when someone else sees your picture and asked who the whale is right? So yes, exercise, exercise, exercise and eat right and get some weight loss supplement. Was losing weight and looking great one of your new year’s resolution? the truth now!

Creative Child

Chloe received a creative set for photo frame from Jessica – from the restaurant – so the minute she had a chance to go to her grammie’s she brought it there to work with her grammie. She said she had so much fun with the clay making – she wanted more of it – to work on it with her Aunt Helena when she gets home from Toronto. I was never a creative child – I can’t even draw a dog, a cat or a fish – but Chloe – man! she can draw up a storm – and color. I think she got the creative part from my dad side of the family – my dad – can draw so well – it’s a pity – he refused to be an architect.

I Can’t Keep A Secret

There are just too many funny and cute stuff about Chloe – especially the things that comes out from her mouth. I wished I could record every single funny thing she said but sometimes I am either too busy or I forget. As this year i am taking time to enjoy my daughter – I am going to try and write down all the cute and funny things that she said.

Well, this was one of them. We were at her grammie’s house before Christmas and she wanted to know what i bought for her uncle richard. But her grammie said she can’t keep secret and told us a story from a long time ago – with Chloe.

Chloe had asked for more pepsi at her Grammie’s ( we don’t like her drink pop) – in which her grammie said sure – she could have some more but she can’t tell her mummy about it. In which, she told her grammie – that’s alright – I don’t want it – because i can’t keep a secret! muahahahahahahha!!!! you say too funny or not – she rather not have the pepsi – then to try and keep the secret from me. muahahahah!!! too cute my girl.

Winter Must Have

If any of you decides to move to Canada and migrate here permanently – like buying a house and all – there are some things you need to have for winter. Why? winter is wicked in most part in Canada and to survive winter – and make life less miserable for you – these are the two things you have to have. The garage door opener and a car starter for the winter. Why? because you don’t want to be stuck outside while you unload your groceries in the middle of winter and you don’t want to freeze in your car – while you wait for it to warm up or when you are shuffling. We learned this the hard way – and like i said – the garage door open and the car self starter to warm up the car – before you need to put your children into the car – to send them to school early in the morning. Trust me! you will thank me for this info – later.

She Never Messes With Our Things

I count my blessings everyday – because with Chloe – we never have to scream, shout or warned her about nothing touching the oven, stove or anything sharp. PB’s kindle is in the bathroom all the time – and she never messes with it – nor picked it up to see what it is not because she isn’t curious – because she knows it is expensive and didn’t belong to her.

When she was a baby – she never picked up things on the floor and put them in her mouth – so we are very lucky with Chloe and whenever she is bad – I remind PB and count our blessings. She would not touch or take anything without asking for permission – because she knows it is wrong. One day she brought back Aunt Helena’s thing – and she was so ashamed of it – it was just some bits of cloth but still she knew it was wrong because she didn’t asked first. So yes! we count our blessing – what about you?

No More Bi-focal For Me

Last year I went to a different eye doctor – because my old one refused to give me a prescription for bi-focal and I was so sure I needed it because when I need to read anything – I have to remove my normal glasses. So I got my bi-focal last year – which cost me a good $500 – for a pair and what happened? I still couldn’t use my bi-focal – because it doesn’t seem to work very well for me. And how do I read now? I still need to take off my glasses! *sigh* – so after paying so much – and not being able to use it leaves me very frustrated because I could have gotten 2 pairs for the same price if not because of my bi-focal. So now i’m sticking to cheap glasses since I don’t have to have bi-focal – that’s for sure. So I’m wrong – and my old eye doctor is right.

I’m No SuperNanny

I haven’t watched SuperNanny for a long, long time – I used to – when Chloe was younger and it was fun watching SuperNanny again. But we all know that kids get naughty once in a while and while I want to be able to discipline my child like SuperNanny – it is definitely no easy feat. I don’t know about other moms – but we pretty much use whatever tactics we’ve learned from our parents – and use it on our kids. So for those – who don’t have kids yet – don’t say “I will never be like my mom!” because you can be so wrong – and I tell you this – because I was this way too – hahha! I bet my mom would be so tickled when she read this.

Chloe isn’t real naughty but at times – she really needs to be disciplined. Like the bad habit of asking for attention when we do have customers around and trying to bump into me – to get the attention – if i ignore her. We’ve spoken to her many times about it – but she does it all the time. But the funny thing is – she never does stuff like that – when she is outside of the store nor at home. So you tell me – what to think of it? So I’m watching supernanny again – and maybe get a tip or two from the show. Wish me luck – because she is too old for the naughty chair – hahah!

A Tour Of Our Local Hospital

The school brought Chloe for a tour of our local hospital and of course – the kid came back with loads of questions for us. From why there are rack mount in the hospital to all about the lab and what she saw in the lab. And of course the baby rooms where all the babies were kept after the babies were born. So like any parents – we try to explain all the details to her – as far as we know how.

It’s amazing that school are so proactive in showing kids everything around them – from apple farm to museums and the firefighter’s office – I would enjoy it tremendously too if I was a kid all over again. Back home every excursion the school arranges- we had to pay for them – and also we had to bring our own food for lunch and break time. But not here in Canada – everything is paid for by the school and even the school buses arranged are all paid for – so yes! Canadian students are definitely much more lucky, therefore, it would be hard for me to think of bringing Chloe home and having her study in Singapore where the competition is a lot more competitive than around here – it’s pretty relax mode over here in Canada.
