Yes, kids can do housework too and help around the store. Today, Chloe wanted to help clean the toilet and we let her – her daddy stayed and watch her cleaned it and even though she didn’t do a good job – it’s alright – because it’s a start. Usually on Sundays, we make her clean up her books and dust around the house while we clean up the house like vacuuming and stuff. And at the store, we make her dust or do some spraying of fabreeze or help the customers with opening the locked cabinets.
One thing for sure is when you ask your kids to help out with the housework, never tell them that it is not cleaned enough and you want to do it all over again. This would then make your kid not want to help you in the future. My mom did that to us, she was never happy with what we did and even called us a liar and accused us for not doing our chores, now that is a huge no no !
For Chloe, doing housework and helping out around the home and store is a joy, she feels that she is responsible – she feels like she is a big girl for helping out, she feels useful – that is how you want your kids to feel.
