So a commercial building came up for sale – within our price range and PB is interested in investing in it. An option is to move the store to that building and then rent the 3 other apartments on the top out. But the inside of the apartments need working on – the 2nd floor really needs lots of work and we also have to check out the property tax for this building – to see if it is worth buying it. We do have the highest property tax in Nova Scotia – so lets hope the town don’t get too crazy about the taxes. Truth be told – I’m not too keen – because good tenants are hard to find around this town. Some folks think that becoming a landlord is good but it’s not true – it’s a lot of responsibility and if you get bad tenants then you are totally screwed.
Birthday Plans & Travel
I told PB that when my birthday comes – I want to celebrate it in Halifax – although after visiting NC’s website , I would very much like to spend my birthday in North Carolina instead – with the beach and the son. I know it’s going to be warmer in North Carolina and my best friend lived there – but because we own our own business – me being only owner by association, we can’t just close shop and leave. So yes ! we do have travel plans in the near future for my birthday and as much as I would like to fly on an airplane – that would just have to wait for a bit longer. For those who’ve never been to North Carolina – you have to visit it sometime and if we did go – we are going to get one of those vacation homes instead of staying in a hotel. So much cheaper and a lot more convenient if you want to cook or do your laundry int he meantime. But for this birthday trip, I’m going to visit Annie’s Cafe in Halifax – so stay tuned – while i tell you about this little cafe in Queens Street.
Helping Out
While other parents helped out/volunteer at their children’s school – I raised money and I give money, apples, cakes & chocolates kid’s school and her class. PB must be wondering why I keep hustling his customers and parents and brother for money for this and that and the only reason why I do that is because I know that I don’t have the time nor energy to personally help in chloe’s school/class – so instead I do other things that I know I can afford and am good in – raise money and make more money. We all do what we can eh – and do what we are good at – no shame of it that’s for sure, in fact – I’m pretty good at it – hahah! anything for our kids – and i’m sure you would do the same too.
Getting The Right Healthcare Plan
While I’m not that old yet – one must know that we all get old eventually right. Especially for an expatriate like myself – I have to think of my old age and health plan – while my parents and our forefathers had many kids to look after them during old age, most families has one or two kids these days. Do you really want to burden your kids with taking care of your medicare bills when they are just starting out and making a new family of their own. I read that in the United States where a lot of my friends and family are living in – they have the Medicare plan to help them find the right plan for heath care coverage – now that’s good eh. Like I said I may not be that old now – but time flies and before you know it – I might need some kind of coverage too – now to find a medicare plan for myself is very important too – I tell PB all the time else he would just have to take care of me during old age.
Want To Buy A Bowling Alley?
We just got back from the bowling alley and learned that it is on sale again soon – so we heard from the other bowlers who where there bowling. I guess with the mess the church is in – because of the priest being sued for something – they had no choice but to sell the bishop’s house and the bowling alley? so I’ve heard. Anyhow, I figured if I were to take out my CPF money – it should be enough to buy the bowling alley – it should be a profitable thing? after all, this is the ONLY bowling alley in town. It does need a little sprucing up – but it should be doable. Or anyone out there wants to buy a bowling alley? let me know eh – good investment i say – should be able to make $500 – $1000 a day from what i see.
Cute Beanie For Chloe
I finally found some cute beanie for Chloe and at very good price too !! Only $13 !!!! usually I try to get them from Etsy – but thus far they are far too small or the colors isn’t what we expected – quite disappointing when you have to pay so much for something eh. So I saw some on Kangol and loved the beanie there – and another hat too – for Chloe but I’ll get the beanie for – and it’s going be cold for a few more months – so she can still wear them. And because it is so cheap – I am going to get some for Christmas present for the end of the year – for some of Chloe’s friends – very practical and definitely worth every penny spent if the kids make use of it for months. I just love cute beanies for Chloe because she won’t get any younger and we all know that when they grow older they won’t want to wear cute stuff anymore – so I’m making the best out of the little girl years I have in her.
My Daughter Changed My Life
From the day I started to get pregnant – this cute as a button lil’ gal changed my life. She made me a better person – originally, I’m already a person who love kids – but because of Chloe – I love kids even more. As I see Chloe growing up – I also become more careful with my words and actions – because whatever I do or say – she is going to learn from me. I also learned to be a lot more patient with everything around me and even when I am mad with someone in the family – I won’t say anything in front of her because I don’t want her to think badly of anyone. Chloe make me want to be the best person – so that she will grow up to be the same – honest, truthful and someone with integrity – who is willing to help others when the need arises. As I watch her sleep each night – I cannot help but feel a sense of pride – for this cute lil’ button is my child to hold, hug and kiss. This child will love me back unconditionally – this child will hug me and tell me she loves me and misses me. Only your own kid will do all the above – so love your kids the way you want them to love you back.
March Break Begins 2011
So March break begins this week for only a week – but there are no camps around town except for the YMCA and they are fully booked – because they can only take 15 kids in a town of 7000 – JOY! So we pretty much gotta find things to do with Chloe on our own to amuse her – for we all know how demanding a 7 yrs old can get. Today she heads out to her Grammie – because Grammie was feeling better – so she brought her guitar and toys to bring with to play at Grammie’s. But first we had to open the store and feed her lunch and then send her to Grammie’s – which ended up at 3pm I think for PB was stuck at the store – too many customers wanting his attention. But Chloe was able to amuse herself while she was at the store – Thank God! and she left for Grammie’s in a hurry – for she was waiting for hours – so she said. Anyway, I am going to do less work online – so that I can spend time with her and let PB do his work at the store.
Family Time @ Bowling Alley
There really isn’t very much to do in this town – and Chloe dislike shopping during the weekends – she said it is boring! well, until she finds something she likes and wants to buy it -hahah!! Plus Sundays are meant for relaxing and cleaning the house – so it can be quite the battle with time. But last week, Chloe suggested that we go bowling and we all did – after all, bowling is a really fun game for all of us. Well, despite the fact that the bowling balls are so small and the technology is like in the 70s – hahah!! yes ! i kid you not. Well, the most important thing is spending time together right? But yes, we are doing something out of our daily routine and the best part is we get to exercise a little and be a wee bit active. Chloe said we are not active enough – if only we have half as much energy as she does.
Princess Tea Party
The Princess Tea Party is organized by the Children’s Wish Foundation – and I’m sure you all know what they are. This year I decided that we will bring Chloe for the Princess Tea Party – after all, she isn’t getting any younger and you know how kids are – after a certain age – they don’t want to dress up as princesses anymore – they want to be all grown up. So yes ! at 7 yrs old – I think she is old enough to enjoy it. The tickets are expensive and a parent need to be there with them – they made it clear that they are not babysitting for you (so said the ticket seller). We bought our tickets today – after talking with Grampie and making him sponsor Chloe’s ticket. Now we have to think of her costume for the party – and since it isn’t halloween – I might have a hard time finding her the right costume. Chloe just informed me that her tiara is too small for her – so I might get some beads and other tiara stuff online and make my own tiara for her.
If you are wondering why there are so many tickets – it’s because I’ve round up a few friends and their princesses to go together with us. I’m very excited about the party – but chloe – she is so – so excited. She is more busy trying to get her pirate ship going – hahah! The party is in April at the hotel in town – cupcakes and tea will be provided. Can’t wait to take a ton of pictures.
