Shopping In The City

Up in the city meeting with our financial adviser from Citibank and of course had to do some shopping since we made some money in the our investment. Our hotels were paid for by Citibank and meals were also paid for by them, what more can we ask for right?  So yes, shop we did and also eat a lot of Japanese food and brought home a lot of groceries.  We were also given some Korean goodies by our financial adviser for he was in Korea for a vacation, so we shared some of those goodies with Chloe’s teachers.  We are very happy with our financial adviser from Citibank – he is absolutely awesome!

Crazy Hair Day & A Very Prim & Proper Gal

It’s crazy hair day today and although the brat wants to do something with her hair, she is so prim and proper and wouldn’t really let me make her hair really crazy *sigh*  – she is so conscious of her appearance and worries about how people might think of her which she shouldn’t for a 9 yrs old.

She is just growing up too fast and too quick and thinking of all sorts of things – and has all sorts of questions for me – from boobies to how a baby is born and kissing – but I guess those are only normal for a growing kid – but I wished I can slow her down but with school and other kids – well, you know how it is.

Which reminds me about a dear old friend back in Singapore – I had told him about how curious my older brother was when we were growing up and he told me then that it was only normal.  At that time, I thought he was crazy too – but little did I know that he was a lot more learned that I.  Ahhhh..!!! wished i had parents who were more informed then.  So hopefully, with Chloe we can do the right thing since Grammie isn’t around to help out – I have to rely on my girlfriends with kids and more experience to help me out on that.

Taking Care Of Myself First

All my years in Canada especially after having Chloe, I’m constantly doing something for her or for the business and our home.  Of course, there is nothing wrong with it but given the recent event with a friend living here for the last 10 yrs and her recent development with her ex, I feel a need to say that every women and mothers out there must take time from their everyday chores and work to take care of themselves first.

Why ?  you never know what will happen in the future – things may change and you may not even suspect it but don’t wait till last minute to realize that all that you’ve done for the spouse, his business and his family, left you with nothing.  My friend is going thru’ some nasty shit from her ex – and she certainly doesn’t deserved it, it also make me realized that as spouses, you need to know about your finances, don’t just ignore or leave it to him to do everything.  If he raked up your joint credit card or gets an overdraft from the bank with your name on it – you are pretty much screwed.

All women around the world must smarten up about your finances especially those who left everything in Asia and came to the West in the name of love.

Flabby Arms

I’ve been trying so hard to get my arms and legs toned up – get some muscles but no matter what I do – my flabby arms is still showing !  So I read some axis-ht reviews  to see if there is anything I can take – to help me with toning up my muscles and what are the side effects.   Afterall, one needs to know clearly before taking anything right?   I guess if a supplement can help with toning my flabby arms – I’m willing to try it.  I also do toning up with weights and push ups – so I’m really looking forward to a more toned up arms and legs.  Wish me luck now.

Healthy Living Begins Now

Procrastination must be my middle name these days – because I have yet to begin a healthier diet but after seeing what the spouse’s cousin ate – even though she is diabetic, it hit me that I should be a living example for a healthier living.  I had promised myself to lose 2 kg a month and I haven’t even started on my exercise regime.  I don’t have those  HCG shots Austin  like those who lived in the states can get – so I won’t get the help I need because I’ve heard that cleansing is also a very important part of losing weight.   Now what made intrigue me was a testimonial I read – not only did she lost 47Ibs but she was off diabetic medication!!!! wow!!!!  now that would be something worth trying for sure.  I asked a friend in Austin Texas to check it out for me  – because I’m really excited about the diabetic part.

Battle Of The Weight

I think it’s the age factor – that one finds it really hard to lose the extra weight – especially someone like myself who loves to eat.  I eat when I am happy, I eat when I am sad – I eat when I watch a tv show – I eat when I am hungry.  Sounds like a lot of eating right? and sounds really familiar too right?  Anyhow, I’m trying to lose some weight for the summer because I have a wedding to attend in New Brunswick.  Last year we didn’t get to go for another wedding of a cousin because we didn’t have any help – but this year there is no excuse – so I’m looking for some help – like a wee bit of diet pills.  Of course, I also need to see what the side effects of myonox  is before taking them and also I will check with my doctor about it.   So wish me good luck with my battle of my weight this summer.

More Gifts From The Body Shop

Everyone loved receiving gifts and more when the gift is something you would used and running out of it.  This is the Body Shop’s Vitamin C Skin Boost – and a bottle of this cost like $26, so I’m grateful to friends from Vancouver who knows that we don’t have a Body Shop here for buying them for me and sending them to me as gift.  I’m indeed blessed!  Thank you so much, Mandy !  The spouse said I’ve got rich and good friends – and I told him yup!  I’ve known Mandy for like 25 yrs!  She worked with me at the Marco Polo Hotel Hong Kong – Mandy was a Management Trainee then and was working at the Business Center as the Manager there.  Loved working with Mandy and it certainly pays to treat your trainee well – unlike the person who had trained me when I first started at the Business Center in Singapore.  Mannnn!!  she was something alright!  wouldn’t let me go home – even if there was 1 cent that I can’t find – even when I offered to pay for the 1 cent.  I’ve never seen anyone worked a trainee before.  There was absolutely no compassion at all – especially when your shifts ends at 11pm – and  you will miss your last train home.  She was absolutely awful!  I’m just glad that none of my trainers were like her – she was the only one i remembered so clearly.

Organic Skin Care For Kids

Found some organic skin care for Chloe at the supermarket the other day – but they were old stock I think.  Parked right at the back of the store – I think I’m going to check out the health store instead.  I’m trying to look out for skin care lotion for kids for Chloe and a friend who is a beauty blog expert recommended some brands to me – I can’t find it in our local pharmacy – so I’m going to try the health store instead tomorrow.

We never used to use anything except Johnson baby lotion – and we do the same for Chloe but I think she is old enough to use other things but I don’t want anything but natural stuff for her.  After all, you don’t want to try her skin like a mature skin right?   Wished me luck, you know how ulu this place is – they have some stuff but not all.

Spa Time

It’s that time of the year again – I’m getting prepared for the holiday parties and also birthday parties not only for Chloe but for Chloe’s friends too. We have a few friends who were born at about the same time as Chloe – and every year I try my hardest to attend all of them. This year I have no excuse – since we have Gary to help out in the store. And you all know when you attend any holiday parties you want to look your best. So I’ve booked myself for a haircut and hair coloring, a facial and a pedicure – and then I’m also looking at getting some eyelash tinting done. But PB laughed at me – and said I should get some eyelash growth serum first before doing the tint – because my eyelashes are not as long as Chloe’s – so if I want my tinting to stand out – first to grow some more eyelashes. So yes! i’m seriously thinking of the eyelash growth serum – anything to look pretty right.

My Lifestyle In Canada

Looking back to my life before living in Canada makes me smile – because never would I have thought I was so passionate about supporting our local businesses and online shopping. Where I come from – we have shopping centers 8 stories high in department stores. Where I am now in a remote area in Canada, it’s really hard to shop for everything in town. I’m passionate about buying local because the spouse owns his own business – a small one – and without the support of the local community – we could never have a comfortable life. Therefore, whenever I can – I will only shop locally or within Canada – it’s smart move to shop within Canada because shipping is cheaper and in a lot of cases it’s even free. Most importantly, I don’t have to pay for brokerage fees. If I needed to buy a big item like a painting (made the mistake once and paid as much for the brokerage and shipping fees as the painting itself).

Since I can’t head to the city every time I need something (because of the store and Chloe at school), shopping online at places like Centrsource or Roots are my best options. I like to shop for everything under one roof, so it’s great when you find an online shop that carries most of the things I need. And I never shop for anything that is not on sale or has a deal/great offer, for I get a little carried away when I shop – don’t you? I’m checking out Centrsource as I write and it’s very unique, it brings you to the site the offer is on – and you deal directly with the seller/shop – pretty neat. And I can shop after Chloe has gone to bed so I can read up on the things I love and get the best deals. Now if only they carried Asian groceries I’d be all set.
