Chloe starts her Karate class at the Y – this Thursday ! we are all excited for her – because we hope that learning Karate will teach her to be more assertive. Hopefully, this will also teach her to protect herself in the future. As parents we are all worried about our kids and we want to equip her with the power and skills to protect herself given the history she had with the other school kids. I think we’ve made the right decision and we are keeping our fingers crossed – that she will enjoy it and be interested in it to continue.
School Is Done For 2010/2011
So school is finally over – and Chloe is ready for her summer fun – summer camp that is – this year – she did very well in school and we are very proud of her. She had 5 As and 5Bs – and her reading improved tremendously. We felt that the teachers for last year and this year played a very important part in her improving so much. Thank God for good teachers and not crazy and inexperienced ones like her first teacher.
Mother’s Day 2011
This is a back-dated post – I was surprised i didn’t write anything about this year’s Mother’s day – but like most Mother’s day – it’s mostly about Grammie and not me. But I did make PB pay for the carnations – that I had chose because I had gone out to get some carnations for Chloe’s teachers and her school staff.
And Chloe made me this crispy rice thingie – that I didn’t really eat – because they were too sweet for a diabetic – but I really appreciated it. This was made with her after school program.
And another lovely card made in school for me – so cute – it even has a picture of her in the front of this rose card.
And a lovely song and picture of mummy and Chloe – awfully cute.
Making Father’s Day Breakfast
So it is Father’s day today – and for breakfast – Chloe helped to make breakkie for her daddy. Chloe said she was going to make her daddy a sandwich for breakfast since it was Father’s day.
She spread the butter but not the cheese whiz – because she said it was yukky ! hahahah!! then we put in some ham for PB and i cut the sandwich into half and got PB some chocolate milk. That was our gift to PB for Father’s day – hopefully, chloe will continue to make breakfast for her daddy as she grows older.
For The Soon To Be Mummies
I thought I would share this with the soon to be mummies because I sure wished someone did when I had Chloe some 7 yrs ago. Being a new mother – although I was then 39 – I was still paranoid and panicky when it comes to looking after Chloe. When Chloe’s grammie said that she should go into her own bedroom – I cried buckets – because I felt that I was abandoning my baby. And let me tell you if you fell that way – it’s normal – it’s the hormones going crazy. So if you are a new and soon to be mummy – I strongly suggest you get those video monitor that allows you to watch your baby sleeping in her/his room while you do other things or even when you are sleeping. So that you don’t have to feel that you need to be able to see the baby every second. That kind of monitor is the the best baby video monitor because it allows you to talk to your baby, watch your baby and listen to your baby. Had I known that there was such technology then – I would have bought it for sure. Now that would have saved me my sanity and probably made me less stressed. So there – my advice to soon – to be mummies and first time mummies – buy that video monitor – it would do you and your spouse a ton of goodness.
Blue Grass Festival
So we all know that I’m the adventurous one – and PB – well – he is PB – he doesn’t change and you young gals out there who think that they can change their men – forget it! they never change – you just go with the flow if you want the relationship to work (lesson #1 to #100). Anyhow lets come back to me being the adventurous one (blowing my own trumpet again) – but when the best friends said that they wanted to go see the blue grass festival this summer – I was all for it. They were bringing their families in their motor home aka RV and I wanted to do it too – after all, how can one go wrong with so many friends on the road together right? But being the paranoid one – I also want PB to check out on the 5th wheel warranty for our trailer – since we don’t have an RV – we thought we should borrow the trailer from PB’s uncle – who goes camping all the time. But I wanted to make sure that we were covered on the road – you never know what might happen right? so yes – as soon as we find out more about our trailer’s warranty – I think we are all set to go. Very excited that we don’t need to actually drive the RV but bring our SUV and the trailer along – that’s way easier. Blue grass festival here we come!
Fatherhood Changes Men
I asked PB if fatherhood had changed him – at first he said he didn’t know – and after a little bit more of questioning – he turned around and said yes – ” fatherhood made him a pussy!” muahahhahahah!!! I asked him what he meant – he said normally, he wouldn’t worry about the car – but now that he is a father – he had to make sure that the car was safe not for him but for the kid. He also said that he is worry that he might not be around when the kid is older. So touching right? Yes ! I think fatherhood had changed PB some – at least he is the tooth fairy who wrote with his left hand so that Chloe won’t recognized his handwriting – muahahah!!!
School BBQ For IWK
So I went for the school BBQ alone – i took a walk up to the school on my own and I stayed for the BBQ because Chloe had asked if I would go. She said – I didn’t need to go – but she hope I would go. She was too cute when she asked – she wasn’t demanding that I go – but she would loved that I go – actually PB and I – but since PB needs to look after the store – I went instead. It was a good BBQ – nothing spectacular – only another parent was there chatting with me and some of Chloe’s teachers. But it was a milestone for me – since I never go anywhere without PB – so yes – I’m starting to feel better it seems – I hope soon I will be able to drive on my own – so looking forward to driving!
A Thief In School
Chloe’s new cap from Etsy got stolen in school – and no she didn’t lose it – she left it near her book bag where they are supposed to be – and when she got out from class for break time they were gone. Shitty! this is a one in a kind cap – handmade and pretty expensive – and it sure broke my little girl’s heart. She loved the hat so much – she was really upset about it and couldn’t eat nor play the entire day. I hope the person who stole the hat gets lice all year round and rashes on the hand all year round too. We believed it is not a child that did it – more like someone who came to the school for the Grade Primary orientation that day – for Chloe had the cap for almost 3 weeks now – and nothing happened – and as soon as new people were in the school – the very first day – her cap was stolen – shitty is not even the word to describe how i feel about the person who stole Chloe’s cap. So from now on – I told Chloe – she can’t bring anything expensive to school no more – else she would end up getting them stolen – and that’s not good.
Pleasant Visit For Chloe
Chloe’s school friends came by to visit yesterday and they stayed a bit for a chat and to eat some donuts and hot chocolate. While i did my work – they were chatting, playing and eating at the same time when one talked about Justin Bieber and said that he was a two – timer – hahahahha!! these girls are but 7 yrs old – and they know what two timers were but not my Chloe. So that got me thinking about how careful we have to be in front of our kids and also what kind of shows we want them to watch – for I bet this girl learned it from the tv. Maybe I am being overly protective or maybe I just want my Chloe to be a baby for a little longer and enjoy the innocence of being a kid of 7 yrs old. Kids shouldn’t be thinking of crushes, Justin Bieber – or a two timer – they should be playing princess tea party.
