Creative Child

Chloe received a creative set for photo frame from Jessica – from the restaurant – so the minute she had a chance to go to her grammie’s she brought it there to work with her grammie. She said she had so much fun with the clay making – she wanted more of it – to work on it with her Aunt Helena when she gets home from Toronto. I was never a creative child – I can’t even draw a dog, a cat or a fish – but Chloe – man! she can draw up a storm – and color. I think she got the creative part from my dad side of the family – my dad – can draw so well – it’s a pity – he refused to be an architect.

I Can’t Keep A Secret

There are just too many funny and cute stuff about Chloe – especially the things that comes out from her mouth. I wished I could record every single funny thing she said but sometimes I am either too busy or I forget. As this year i am taking time to enjoy my daughter – I am going to try and write down all the cute and funny things that she said.

Well, this was one of them. We were at her grammie’s house before Christmas and she wanted to know what i bought for her uncle richard. But her grammie said she can’t keep secret and told us a story from a long time ago – with Chloe.

Chloe had asked for more pepsi at her Grammie’s ( we don’t like her drink pop) – in which her grammie said sure – she could have some more but she can’t tell her mummy about it. In which, she told her grammie – that’s alright – I don’t want it – because i can’t keep a secret! muahahahahahahha!!!! you say too funny or not – she rather not have the pepsi – then to try and keep the secret from me. muahahahah!!! too cute my girl.

She Never Messes With Our Things

I count my blessings everyday – because with Chloe – we never have to scream, shout or warned her about nothing touching the oven, stove or anything sharp. PB’s kindle is in the bathroom all the time – and she never messes with it – nor picked it up to see what it is not because she isn’t curious – because she knows it is expensive and didn’t belong to her.

When she was a baby – she never picked up things on the floor and put them in her mouth – so we are very lucky with Chloe and whenever she is bad – I remind PB and count our blessings. She would not touch or take anything without asking for permission – because she knows it is wrong. One day she brought back Aunt Helena’s thing – and she was so ashamed of it – it was just some bits of cloth but still she knew it was wrong because she didn’t asked first. So yes! we count our blessing – what about you?

I’m No SuperNanny

I haven’t watched SuperNanny for a long, long time – I used to – when Chloe was younger and it was fun watching SuperNanny again. But we all know that kids get naughty once in a while and while I want to be able to discipline my child like SuperNanny – it is definitely no easy feat. I don’t know about other moms – but we pretty much use whatever tactics we’ve learned from our parents – and use it on our kids. So for those – who don’t have kids yet – don’t say “I will never be like my mom!” because you can be so wrong – and I tell you this – because I was this way too – hahha! I bet my mom would be so tickled when she read this.

Chloe isn’t real naughty but at times – she really needs to be disciplined. Like the bad habit of asking for attention when we do have customers around and trying to bump into me – to get the attention – if i ignore her. We’ve spoken to her many times about it – but she does it all the time. But the funny thing is – she never does stuff like that – when she is outside of the store nor at home. So you tell me – what to think of it? So I’m watching supernanny again – and maybe get a tip or two from the show. Wish me luck – because she is too old for the naughty chair – hahah!

A Tour Of Our Local Hospital

The school brought Chloe for a tour of our local hospital and of course – the kid came back with loads of questions for us. From why there are rack mount in the hospital to all about the lab and what she saw in the lab. And of course the baby rooms where all the babies were kept after the babies were born. So like any parents – we try to explain all the details to her – as far as we know how.

It’s amazing that school are so proactive in showing kids everything around them – from apple farm to museums and the firefighter’s office – I would enjoy it tremendously too if I was a kid all over again. Back home every excursion the school arranges- we had to pay for them – and also we had to bring our own food for lunch and break time. But not here in Canada – everything is paid for by the school and even the school buses arranged are all paid for – so yes! Canadian students are definitely much more lucky, therefore, it would be hard for me to think of bringing Chloe home and having her study in Singapore where the competition is a lot more competitive than around here – it’s pretty relax mode over here in Canada.

Winter Camp

Thank God for winter camp this year – because Chloe had 3 weeks of holidays from school – right before Christmas and then after. Chloe’s grammie was going to take her like twice a week but she got a cold right after Christmas and couldn’t take her. Also, this time round – Chloe had decided to stay for lunch instead of having her to bring her back and send her back to camp after lunch. So yes! thank God for Winter camp – and hopefully, they do it again next year – because it sure helped us a lot since we were so busy during Christmas time. On the last day of Winter camp – I gave the camp counselors some food vouchers from a local restaurant here to thank them for taking care of Chloe. Yes, we do have to pay for camp – but it’s always nice to show our appreciation in different ways.

Santa Came Visiting

So did Santa come visiting you at home? and bring you lots of toys and goodies? Chloe said to me yesterday evening that Santa saved her by bringing her the lil’ rinser – a plastic cap thingie that you put on the kids head – to keep the water outta the kid’s faces – hahha! that was too funny! but yes! Santa found our home yesterday and made some people really happy. We had bought some
usb drives to give out to our customers this Christmas – so whenever they use the USB drive – they will think of us – pretty neat eh? I think it’s the most useful corporate gift for just about anyone who uses the computer – and since we do own a computer store – it’s only right to give a personalized USB drives to our customers. PB said he might even get this to resell at our store – but also have our store’s name printed on it.

More Me & Chloe Time

Every year during this time – I would be in a frenzy to get out all the gifts if not before Christmas – it would be around now – and even if I am late – I would still get the presents out – and then I would feel like I’ve done right by the rest of the world. But this year – after what happened to PB’s nephew Nick, I literally stopped and thought about what I should honestly do for myself and Chloe. All these years – I’ve been so involved in so many things around me – that I’ve forgotten what is most important – Chloe. Isn’t it the most important to put Chloe and PB first? making money is important and keeping friends and relative happy are also important – but ultimately, the most important people in my life is Chloe and PB right?

So if I haven’t been online or on FB or slow with the movies – in the next few months or year – please know that I have a commitment to my family first – to Chloe and PB first. I’m grateful to so many people who have given me space – and given me time – to do the right thing by Chloe especially. I have taken time to take care of myself first this year after i started on my anxiety pills. So for the new year – I’m going to slow down on my online stuff – and concentrate of nurturing chloe and my health – and I trust my friends will understand.

Gifts From Overseas For Chloe’s Birthday

Friends and family from away – in United States as well as Asia and some in UK had been very kind to Chloe – like forever. Even though I said – no gifts this year – they still sent a few. I am grateful – and I appreciate it – especially when one aunt went ahead to buy goldĀ  for Chloe even though I said – I can never repay her kindness. We loved the silver coins – not only are their a rare item – they are sort of an investment for Chloe – but really they are so kind. Today we received another package for Chloe – and Chloe asked me – if they were silver coins again? This package came all the way from Australia – but nope – they are not silver coins – but definitely something for Chloe’s birthday/Christmas and also a package for me. We haven’t opened it yet – they are now sitting under our Christmas tree because we told Chloe they were for Christmas – after all, she already had so many birthday presents. Can you guess what we received today?

Happy 7th Birthday, Princess!

Dear Chloe,

You turned 7 today and boy! have you grown! it had been 7 wonderful years for mummy because you’ve grown to be such a beautiful, smart and adorable child. You seems to get taller everyday and even though you refused to eat a lot of things – you are pretty healthy except for the cold that never want to go away it seems.

You are still scared of a lot of things and is a pretty whiny little girl – who loves lots of attention – especially when there are customers at the store. Despite the fact, that you are a pretty good kid – who helps most times when asked – you loved to misbehave in front of our customers in the store. But you never misbehave when you are out of the store – or when shopping. You never cry or fuss when we go shopping – and insist on buying things – you are very good when it comes to eating junk – still asking first before eating – and usually only eat very little junk.

You did very well in school this year and you still love Hannah Montana a lot. You recognized a lot of words now and able to do simple reading on your own. And you are a lot more independent too this year. Unfortunately, you are still quite a sore loser and haven’t learned that it is ok to not be a winner all the time. This year – I’ve also noticed that you are bonding well with your grandparents and even spend time with them on your own, thus we are able to have a wee bit of free time to work on our own things.

But overall, you are a pretty good girl who loves all pretty things in pink. You are pretty sensible – but at times can be cranky. 7 yrs seems like a long time for mummy but yet so short – I know that we are trying our best to be the best parents to you. You asked me what you should be when you grow up and my reply to you was – you can be anything you want – as long as you are honest and integrity. I hope to bring you up to be one – my dear princess. You bring so much joy to mummy and I love you very much and I know you will be a wonderful person when you grow up. I wish for you happiest always, good health, lots of friends and lots of laughter. Happy 7th birthday and many more to come – Princess! you are the love of our life.

Love,
Mummy
