Counting One’s Blessing

I count my blessings that my spouse isn’t anything like my grandfather or my dad. I remembered how my grandmother used to have to mow the lawn.. and do all the weeding in the garden.. when my grandfather was at work. As for my dad.. of course.. I have never ever seen him mow the lawn either.

As you all know.. how busy we are.. with our own businesses .. and having to look after the brat full time, therefore mowing the lawn needs to be done as soon as we get a free 15 mins.. without the brat.. else she wants to be out.. when all the bugs comes flying out.. while PB mows.

Many Rocks In My Life

Thankful for the many rocks in my life at this point of time.. because i could have never gotten thru’ the last week.. if they weren’t there for me. Firstly, it was PB .. who dropped everything.. including the princess brat.. and stayed in the hospital with me.. throughout my ordeal… day and night. Secondly, were my in-laws .. they dropped everything to be with princess brat .. even though this is the busiest season for them in the garden. Thirdly, our very trusted and most valuable employee .. Keegan.. who dropped everything .. to take care of the store.. while PB was gone during those days.. working all days and nites… and sometimes.. doubling up.. and taking care of Chloe in the store.. while running the store. What an awesome girl..!

I cannot thank them enough for being such a huge rock and of course God for being there for me the whole time.. and hearing my prayers. And thanks to all .. who emailed.. and messaged.. and left comments. Special thanks to Barb .. you are a true pal.. ! Thanks to the Izea Team.. for your well wishes! And Gerald, Adele and Sarah Leblanc .. for your gift..! and well wishes .. and everyone who had dropped into the store.. and asked about my well being.. Gary, Sherry, Kerry .. Katelynn’s parents… and our regular customers. Thank you all for making my stay in Canada.. a meaningful one.

The Things Men Should Know

We were just joking today.. that we should go out and get something for PB for Father’s Day.. and he had told the kid..that before we can get anything for Father’s day.. perhaps .. we should find a present for Mother’s day first. Yes.. i couldn’t think of anything .. i would have wanted. But to be honest.. all women are not difficult to please.. a piece of jewelry like a gold bangle would be really nice.. and appreciated.

She has so much fun bathing.. and PB does a good job.. cleaning her up. .because i can’t bend over.. because of my fibroids. But it is really good to see father and daughter bonding.. because my father never bond this way with us. Times has changed. Even my mother-in-law said i was lucky.. to get so much help. .for she didn’t.

It Takes Two

Sometimes whenI see PB carrying the brat to bed.. i get such a wonderful feeling.. maybe my dad was never this way to us..?? And on the other hand.. i know i can never make it as a one parent thing. It’s hard to be a good parents .. and to do it alone.. now that’s scary. Alot of ppl do it.. but i doubt i can. I’m a two parents kind of person. What about you ..?? I do admire those single moms..! i donch know how they do it.. or brave it out.

Laundry Apah

Sorry to take over your title .. Laundry Amah..! but borrow first ya.. ! The man had been helping me to do laundry .. when we moved to our new house .. some 3.5 yrs ago. Well.. the initial reason was because it washing machine and dryer is at the basement .. and it’s cold down there.. since we don’t keep the heat up alot.

Yes.. and PB folds the clothes too.. and i think he does a better job than I .. muahahahha!! But most of our laundry .. are actually towels and those of the brat’s.

When You Don’t Have A Dishwasher

Not that we cannot afford one.. but it is major work.. to try and put in one now .. that we are already living in the house. And we don’t have the time to stay home .. the whole day.. just to get a dishwasher in .. so we make do. I don’t hate washing dishes.. i just can’t stand too long.. so what do one do.. when you don’t have a dish washer..?? and you can’t stand too long..??

Yes..! you guessed right..! you make the man do the dishes.. and the bottle as well. Afterall, it is just on the way eh. I know that during my grandfather’s time.. and even my own brothers..weren’t expected to do housework at all. But you see.. PB was already pretty hands on .. before i came.. for he actually lived on his own.. when he turned like 18 ..??

Working The System

I’m not self righteous nor am I an angel.. but somethings.. you just don’t do. Owning a store .. for more than 8.5 yrs.. we see all sorts of people coming in to return broken goods.. or after using them during a party or a weekend. I think we pretty much seen everything.. and every excuses and reason they can come up with.

Some ppl think that we are a complete sucker.. and by doing something as dishonest as returning broken goods wouldn’t cost us money.. because it is the store.. and not us personally. They cannot be more wrong and further from the truth. The store is us.. and we are the store.. whatever we lose affects us directly.

So when i called up .. to let the local grocery store know that they had overcharged us for something.. but in fact .. it was me .. who got it wrong.. and i could have gotten away with it.. and getting a refund.. i can’t do that.. because that is being dishonest.. and like the man said.. and rolled his eyes.. “you are gonna get someone fired” but nope.. like i said.. we can’t do that..! how can you eat stuff that was stolen right..? The moral of the story..?? Are you ethical..?? or honest enough to yourself.. and answerable..?

The Man & Pap Smear

What do men know about Pap Smear??? Asked 10 men.. and they vaguely know what needs to be done when the wife or g/f needs one. Does your man know what you have to go thru’ when you go for your Pap Smear…?? why do woman like me hate to do our yearly pap smear.. but must do it .. because it is like “required” by the health law book.

Then the man asked how come I don’t do my Pap smear .. instead of telling the gynae otherwise..?? It was because i didn’t get to shower before going to the doc’s office. So you all tell me lah.. would you take a pap smear.. ?? if you didn’t shower..?? Honestly..?? i can’t do it..!! can you …??

Canoeing With Papa

My in-laws are very outdoorsy people .. and so is Richard my brother-in-law.. but PB and I donch get to do alot of outdoor stuff.. because we have a business to look after (that’s our excuse .. and we are sticking by it). Although we are not the outdoorsy type.. we hope to let Chloe try everything we can get her to. But chloe being chloe.. she is afraid of everything.. and wouldn’t even go into the canoe. .even though it wasn’t in the water during the weekend.

After much cajoling.. she agreed to go in .. sitting on Papa’s lap. What wuss..! muahhaha!!
