Christmas Shopping

Christmas shopping is almost impossible for us – because we own our own business and have a kid – and we have very limited time – so we resort to doing our shopping online. Not only is it convenient – most places like when you buy apple bottom, one can get free shipping! awesome right. How are you making out with your Christmas shopping? like I said – PB always waits to the last minute – as for me – I shop smart – i buy all my friends and families online – that way they will get their presents on time every time. And no hassle with buying online because if it doesn’t fit or for any reason they are not suitable – most places return policy is not only good – they give you a label to ship back to them for free. Super awesome to shop online!

PB Is 38

So PB turned 38 a few days ago – we didn’t celebrate or anything – just bought him a cake and Chloe blew out the candles with him. 38 seems like a big number for age – but compared to my 45 – it’s nothing lah! he is still young – and I’m still the cradle robber – hahahha! Every year during his birthday – or mine for that matter – we don’t really celebrate – for me – I’m pretty simple – and think that all the presents and what nots are just for show. If he wanted something – he knows how to get it and he has the money for it but since I rarely ask for anything – I guess he can’t really ask for a lot. I think I’m just a very practical person – instead of buying me something just because – i would rather have the money to get what I want.

Plus there really isn’t any restaurant here that I really wanna go eat here – *shrug* – If we were back home – I guess we would go to Chjmes or whatever new restaurant to try out the food – but over here – eat here eat there also same kinda food. No italian food, no french food, no Japanese food nor authentic dim – sum – well you get the drift lah. Plus back home – I would probably go to a nice lounge and have a cocktail or go dancing but over here no nice pub nor lounge – so why waste the money right? So yes! PB is 38 – and really there is nothing he wants to go eat – but I think when I turn 46 in April – i would insist on going to the city to paint the town red – hahahha!!

SmartPhone For Christmas

When you don’t know what to get the teenage niece or nephews for Christmas – then try the htc desire hd smartphone. That was what they had asked for this Christmas – and it’s like $79.95- which isn’t a bad price – since we all spend like $100 each for the nieces and nephews on Christmas. Lucky for us – we don’t have a lot of them around – hahahha! Is it the latest gadget in the market? i wouldn’t know – but you know kids – if they asked for it – it must be pretty awesome – since they know everything about these gadgets.

Precious Moments

Chloe truly warms my heart every day – yes! she can be quite naughty at times – but most times she is a very thoughtful and kind little girl. She wouldn’t ask me to do things that would hurt me – like piggy back her – because she knows I have a bad back. She would be really sad – if she did something to hurt me – like jumping on the bed or rolling around and accidentally kicking me in bed.

Yesterday – she wrote a note to Santa – making sure he knows where his milk and cookies will be when he comes with his presents for her this Christmas. And she also wrote – that she believed in angels! because I was humming that song from Abba – hhahaha! and she even wrote – “Yes, I Do! ” after I sang – I believe in Angels – hahahha!! cute or what! precious moments ! she is too cute!

6 hrs Of Sleep

For a while there I was sleeping more than 6 hrs a night but lately – I have gone back to my old habits because I had to spend a lot more time with Chloe teaching her – her homework and going through reading books with her. Plus Chloe had been a lot more demanding of late – so even though I go home from the store at 5pm – I don’t get to do any of my work at all. So by the time she goes to bed – I start with my own housework and preparing for her food for the next day – I end up in bed late AGAIN! I was telling PB he needs to get me some under eye creams and not just any ordinary ones – because while people has eye bags – I have eye luggage – yes! it’s that bad! Yes! when you have kids – you really have to time yourself properly – but with a spouse – who needs time for gaming – instead of helping you out with “your” domestic stuff – that’s when he has to spend more money on eye creams for me.

How To Get A 6 Months Visa Into Canada?

I’ve been asked many a times – how do one get thru’ custom and get your 6 months chop on your passport without any trouble. So when i received an email this morning from a fellow Singaporean – i decided to write it out here instead. First of all, don’t go to the embassy and tell them you are staying for 6 months – as soon as you do that – they might send in the information to Canadian custom to look out for you ( i think they are required by law to do so). Canadian custom frown upon people who are planning to stay this long. But having said that Canadian custom are not evil – they are just doing their job and don’t want over stayers and people who intend to stay in Canada illegally or work here illegally.

So here is what you do – if you want to enter into Canada without any problems and be granted a 6 months visit legally. You have to have enough cash with you – you have to tell them you have family and friends and a job waiting for you back home. You have to have a return ticket – showing when you are going home – but note – that you should not have your air ticket printing it 6 months from your date of arrival. Always buy a ticket that allows you to change your date of flight – that way – you can book for 2 months from date of arrival and then change it when you arrive and have gotten your 6 months visa.

If possible – bring a business card with you if you are working – if you are still in school – make sure you have school papers showing when you are supposed to be back for school. The whole idea is to show them that you have no intention of staying longer than you should – and that you are just here for a visit and sightseeing around Canada. And by the way – if you are coming to Canada in February – it is the coldest month here – make sure you are dressed warmly. Do not spend a lot of money buying winter clothes in Singapore – safe your money and buy one when you arrive – in the meantime – just buy something as warm as you can in Singapore. I hope the above helps – and like I said before – i never had any trouble with immigration Canada – and you shouldn’t too – because Immigration Canada is not out to get you – they are only out to get those who have ill intentions.

Hormonal Acne

I do believe in hormonal acne when the niece spoke with me about it the other day – because before i had my hysterectomy – I usually get mine when I was going to have my menses – and it was like clockwork. The acne and pimples start popping out and then the flow starts. There are hormonal acne treatments for people like myself and I wished I had known about this earlier – because then I don’t have to waste my money buying things that doesn’t work. So I am recommending hormonal acne treatments to anyone who has the same problem as I and regain their confidence back immediately and no more wasting of your money.

Report Card For Grade 1

I’m pleased to report that Chloe got her report card back today. All As 2 B s only 1 C – for reading. Her teacher wrote : Chloe has had a good first term. She is making progress at the early grade one level of reading and she does well with her word lists. She tries hard with her writing. Her work is always very neat and shows that she puts lots of effort into it. I need to encourage her to take risks when writing and to give the word a try. She often wants to have all her work done correctly. Chloe is always very pleasant and well behaved. She is kind and helpful to others.

Chloe has definitely come a long way – from when she first started at this school. Yes! i think the teachers play a very important part – Chloe is very lucky – her last year teacher and this year’s were great teachers – who have their own kids – therefore, wasn’t as panicky as the first one. Chloe tries really hard to read and recognize her words and we as parents of course hope she continues to excel in school.
