Growing Up With Chloe Grade 3

Today is the start of Grade 3 for Chloe.  She was all excited and wanted to get to school on time.  We put on new clothes for her from Gymboree and The Children’s place and after breakfast, we headed for school.  Got there just in time, because she needed to use the washroom before we left.  She was happy when we left her in her class room and her new teacher seems great and have many years of experience , so I’m sure she will be a happy student this year too.

She Came But Didn’t Visit

Chloe’s godma came all the way from Toronto for a week vacation but she didn’t come visit chloe at all.  Of course, Chloe was disappointed and we were working the entire week but was available in the evenings but nope no sign of her godma.  *sigh* what to do and what to say right?  I comforted Chloe and explained that her Godma must be really busy – but of course, she didn’t understand it and sulk the entire day.  We ended up bringing her for ice cream and the park and then YMCA for a swim and some playtime – to appease her.  Poor Chloe !

Special Bonding With A Special Aunt

Chloe doesn’t have an aunt from my side of the family, for I’m not in talking terms with my sister.  I deemed my sister crazy because she never liked that I am better than her in a lot of ways even when we were kids.  If I was smarter than her in school or if I scored higher than her in exams, my sister tried every way to make me look bad in front of my mom and friends.   So no – I don’t want to keep in contact with her.

So when Chloe loves HJ like a real aunt – I am very happy because HJ isn’t my sister but she sure is better than a sister and she sure is good with Chloe.  I cannot be more pleased with this friendship – and I’ve got so many makan kakis now.

Summer Camp Is Almost Over

Summer camp will closed even earlier this year – in fact in another 4 days.  Why ! oh Why!!  my poor chloe is going to be so bored.  She loved to do outdoorsy stuff during the summer and even though she is only there for a few hours and we have to pay full price – we feel it is worth it because it gets her outside and she learns to get along with other kids.

This year for summer camp, we have less complains – she seems to be enjoying herself more and seems to be getting along well with others except for 2 little girls who loved to boss Chloe around.

Chloe has grown taller this summer and put on some weight as you can see here – she had only gotten sick once this summer – and she continues to thrive but still misses her grammie and speaks of her often.

My Karate Kid

I’m really proud of Chloe because she stuck to Karate even in the summer – and even though she was quite disappointed that she didn’t get her orange stripes during spring.  Her sinseh told me today that she will be getting her orange stripe before the end of summer and she seems to be truly enjoying her karate classes every week.  My karate kid haven’t used any of her karate moves on the kids that bother her yet – hahahha!

Enjoying The Summer

This year’s summer – we are trying to enjoy it to the max with Chloe, I think because of the death of Grammie that had taken us all by surprised and also really woke me up – that spending time with Chloe is a lot more important than anything.  I don’t want to die with regrets that I didn’t do much with Chloe and that she grows up not knowing what it would have been like to do this and that with me as a mom.  So I’m trying my darnedest to do what is right by her.  Sure we do send her to summer camp still but that’s because we want to make sure she is out in the sun a little bit and be able to interact with other kids and that her social skill will continue to improve and that she learns to share and other common courtesy stuff.  But this year, we’ve done a lot more with her than we usually did before and I hope that we will continue to do more with her before the summer ends.

She had also been to game arcade when we were on holiday and we’ve taken trip out of town twice already – so hopefully before the summer ends we will go up to the city again for a few days to do whatever she wants.  I don’t want to just make money and forget about giving Chloe the childhood she deserves.  Making money is important but Chloe is way more important than money.

Such Innocence

Chloe is growing up so fast, she is taller this year and put on quite a bit of weight – and eating a lot more, unfortunately, she is still very picky with her food.  Lately, she had been playing a lot with the neighbor’s kid and they get a long really well.  I’m very happy actually and the kid is really a good kid too.  She loved having her friend for supper or lunch, so when she wants to invite her for our outing, we have no problems with it.  They do have so much fun when they go out and eat, they play together, they draw and color together and the kids knows only about having fun.  I hope we can give Chloe a good childhood, unlike mine – that was filled with so much drama.  So the least drama we have for Chloe the better it is.  I’m very, very blessed because PB is the least drama person on earth.

An Awesome Vacation

This vacation that we took to Moncton was a great bonding time for Chloe and us.  We wanted to make sure that the vacation was about her – and we did try to make most stuff about her.  Chloe had a great time swimming, playing games at Crystal Palace and going to Build-a Bear and build herself a new bear plus we bought lots of clothing for her from The Children’s Place in Moncton.  I’m glad that PB was doing his best to make our vacation a good one.  But I came back with a cold – darn!

To Magnetic Hill Zoo

We headed to the Magnetic Hill Zoo after having breakfast at the hotel with the extended family.  But alas, we should have dress lightly – it was way too hot but we did managed to walk a good part of the zoo with Chloe.

Like any zoo – there were lots of animals – and chloe wasn’t too fascinated by them to be honest.

Some goats for petting but Chloe didn’t wanna pet them.

Specially Designed

We specially designed a t-shirt for Chloe a few weeks ago – just to see if it would catch the attention of the people on the street when she is out on a walk or in the park.  But what we really want to do is to make some  custom made shirts  for everyone at the store including myself but mine has to be pretty funny and catchy of course.   Thus far, Chloe loved her specially designed t-shirt – and everyone who she has met on the street commented on it – free publicity for the store of course.

I definitely want PB to get a few – and Gary to have a few too – and since it’s summer – pretty hot around here – just round collared t-shirts would be just fine for now.  For the fall – they probably have to wear those collared ones – but we’ll see how much they cost before deciding on the fall shirts.
