Arthur Bull was in our store.. !! He is campaigning to be the new MP in our area. He was very nice.. and all.. doing his walkabout i guess. Quite different from what i am used to from home..but it was nice.. he came in.. and we met him.

Donch you just love good service.. and good attitude..!! I tell you .. they have my loyalty for sure..!!

Dear Mr Mackinnon,

There must be a bug in your cashiering detector…for the latest left me
.. completedly baffled as i cannot reconciled how i could have been
charge for something that wasn’t even on the price tag at all.

Normally, when i buy your cooked wings..on 50% discount.. and when i do
not get the discount.. i can understand why.. the mistake might have
been made. But this time.. the prices for the before and after special
was printed on the labels.. but i was charged a totally different price
altogether.

I normally do not wish to complain about such a small amount of money..
but i’ve had times..where i was charged double.. for groceries that i
bought too. As you know.. i shop alot at Sobeys, meaning every other
day to be exact .. and seeing the mistake made over and over again.. i
feel that maybe it is time you should know about it.

i will scan the receipt for you tomorrow when i get into my store ..
with the labels on the box of wings for you too, if you like, for i know
how busy you and i are on a daily basis and playing catch up might be
hard for us.

Guess who sent a e-card with christmas greetings..??? my ex-boss.. Mr Tsingos..!! all the way from Spain..!! I cannot tell you how happy i am to hear from him..!! and his lovely wife…! Maneula!
Do not forget .. i’ve stopped working for this kind man.. for almost 5 yrs now.. and yet.. every year.. he would send me christmas greetings.. without fail…!!
Initially, when i was first in this country… he would call.. with his christmas greetings from Spain.. to Canada.. and wish me Merry Christmas.. but he has since retired.. a few years ago.. but every christmas.. he would remember me.
Mr Tsingos is one of the best bosses i’ve ever had..! he is so good to all the employees.. and he treats us all so well. He doesn’t even have the arrogance of some bosses i know. He treated me very well.. and i will never forget his kindness.
During my few year working with him….. it was the best time of my life..! If i ever work again.. back in Asia .. i would want my new boss to be like him.
And no.. he doesn’t know about my blog.. hehhe!!

Having posted the IWK letter.. i also realised.. how important it is to let the ppl around you .. know how much you appreciate them.. for their thoughtfulness.. and including us in their life. This was what i did ..after Dominic’s birthday party.. i sent an email to his parents.

Yes, truly, truly Dominic has grown to be such a wonderful kid. Please convey my heartfelt congratulations to C for another milestone reached with Dominic..!

2 months ago, i sent out some 2 yrs worth of Heinz Labels to the children foundation of the IWK hospital in Halifax in conjunction with the “Save Lives, Save Label” program.

The letter below says it all :

To Whom-It-May-Concern,

A month and a half ago, i sent someone up to Halifax for me.. to deliver in person.. 2 yrs worth of Heinz Label with conjunction with the Save Labels, Save Lives program for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

I am not looking for any thank you .. but a simple note of acknoweledgement for the box of 2 yrs worth of labels would have been much appreciated. Unfortunately, to date .. i have yet to hear from anyone from IWK with regards.

I am therefore inclined to believe that my effort to save the labels for the above program for the past 2 yrs was a wasted effort .. since an acknowledgment wasn’t even given.

I am truly disappointed.. and sad.. with the inaction.

After several days, this was their reply:

Dear Mama BoK,

Thank you so much for your note. Your comments have definitely given
us a bit of a wake up call.

I must first thank you for your donation of the Heinz Labels but I must
also apologize for not acknowledging your donation of these labels to
the IWK.

We used to have a system in place many years ago where we sent out a
letter to all of the donors of Heinz Labels and we’ve obviously dropped
the ball with this process.

Because of your note, we will be putting this system back in place to
ensure that friends of the IWK are recognized for this donation.

There are no excuses and I’m not going to try to make any here but I do
want you to know that we do appreciate your donation and that because of
the Heinz label program we do recieve upwards of $5000 from Heinz for
the labels and box tops.

I hope that this doesn’t deter you from donating the labels in the
future.

Again, my apologies for overlooking the importance of these types of
donations.

I wish you all the best over the holiday season and please feel free to
contact me directly if you have any questions.

Ok .. my point is.. a simple.. simple acknowledgement .. is all i needed. Thank you very much .. Ms Elizabeth Smith. You made my day..!

I got up only at 2pm.. and frankly speaking.. i got alot done. Cooked 2 different meals .. for Papa BoK & the brat.. and cleaned up our bedroom, vacuumed part of the house.. while Papa BoK did the rest.
I even mopped the floor..and clean the bathroom.. and changed some of the table clothes.. and more cleaning up in the kitchen.
Watered the plants.. and did more dishes.. after i cooked for myself. So yes.. we did alot.. but the christmas tree is not up yet.. due to the fact.. that the brat didn’t wanna go to bed.

Put up by Papa BoK today..at our lawn.. ! YaY!! now i no need to tell ppl that i’m a chinese jew.. hahah!!!

We are being selfish today.. and not going into the store.. and not going to visit Grammie’s so that we can get some things done at home.
I’ve only been up for 2 hours..and Papa BoK already changed the bedsheets in our bedroom, flipped the mattress over..and put but the sheets in the bed .. and even brought them down to the laundry room to have it done.
Our nice outdoor decoration.. is out in the lawn.. courtesy of Papa BoK and i’ve already done some of the dishes.. and changed the table clothes in our bedroom.
More to be done by today.. i am sure.. but since the brat is napping.. we are taking a break too.. 🙂
I hate being selfish.. sometimes.. but sometimes we have to.. because nothing gets accomplished.. if we don’t do it.. and no one is gonna help us clean the house right..??
