JOY! No Babysitter Again !

As much as we love our babysitter that had been with us for 4.5 yrs.. it can be really disrupting when you are expecting her.. and her mother calls 40mins before she is due to show up. The brat had been waiting for her the whole day.. to show her stuff that she learned in school and her new books, so she was disappointed. And my hope to get some work done when the sitter came.. at 3.30pm is now no longer possible.

As a working parent, we have a very tight schedule.. and if the sitter isn’t around, one of us gotta stop doing stuff.. and be with her. And when I go home with her.. i cook and feed her dinner.. and then get the bath ready .. so that PB can come home and bathe her. And nope.. we stay with her.. chat with her.. read to her.. and you know do stuff and pretty can’t do anything else. As I’m writing right now, PB had taken her out for a walk, which we promised when the sitter arrived.

Plus when the sitter is around, we try to go run some errands, but like today, we have to shelf that too. So yes.. !! it is darn disrupting.. but what can you do right..?? she fell down the stairs ..and hurt herself. How the sitter manages to get into these accidents .. well.. lets say.. your guess is as good as mine..* roll eyes* .. Poor kid..!! but still darn disrupting lor..!!! so yes.. i’m just glad Chloe is old enough for summer camp at the YMCA this summer.. that way, we don’t have to worry if the sitter cannot come, at least the brat gets to do something and at this age, they have to do stuff, plus we really do not encourage watching so much tv.

PS : And PB can’t sneak home to take a shower now because we had to cook for Chloe this morning.

Hypertension/High Blood Pressure

For those who are not aware of this.. yes.. ! i’m diagnosed as having Hypertension. In another words, high blood pressure lah. And i blamed it on the lack of the kind of food i cannot get here. Back home, i cannot remember eating so much instant noodles.. nor burgers .. but here in Canada.. you kinda wanna eat really fast.. and get it over with. Nope .. i don’t need a lawyer like those who has Mesothelioma of course.. but having said that .. i just want everyone to know.. that migrating is not as fun as everyone thinks. Not only the food is different.. i haven’t ate steam fish for years now – because i cannot find “ang kor li” here.. only fish i can find here are salmons .. and cod fish .. and they are mighty expensive here.. the fresh ones.

My Tummy Hurts !

This morning .. Chloe decided to have a tummy ache. She said her tummy hurts so much.. she didn’t wanna go to school. Further probing .. we learned that she knew her “boxing friend” was gonna be in school today, so that was the reason why she didn’t wanna go to school. I explained to her.. that I will make sure to remind her teacher about her “boxing friend” and that she could call us immediately if she gets punched again.. and we’ll come pick her up immediately. Then she said.. it was ok.. to go to school. On the way to school, she told us that there was one time.. where her “boxing friend” boxed her face as well – but that was a long time ago. So this was the 3rd time…??

We spoke to the teacher again.. and again she played it down.. and make light of it but yes.. we are gonna be keeping a real close eye on this “boxing friend”

School Bully

It had been a rather trying week for us last week because Chloe was punched by a classmate in her pre-school on the chest. At first, we didn’t think too much of it.. till in the evening, when we got home.. and got ready to bathe her .. and i saw a slight bruise on her chest. I asked her about it.. and she said.. it was this boy who punched her on her chest.. but she had already told her teacher about it. As parents, we all know that we first have to find out .. whether our own kid had been bad first .. perhaps, Chloe had provoked the boy. But Chloe said “no” .. and i was abit concern because this is not the first time, this kid had done that to Chloe.

Like all parents, we of course want to teach our kid how to protect herself and after much talking about it.. and explaining to Chloe what she had to do in the future should it happen again, my daughter is so kind hearted and refuses to push her bully away .. but insisted that she was gonna run very quickly to her teacher. I know that in every school and in fact in every class in the future,…. my kid may come across a bully or two.. but that does not mean .. that my kid needs to continue to be the victim right..?? And even though her current teacher tried to put it lightly to us.. about the situation .. i am very worried because my daughter is not taught to hurt others.. nor do we condone roughing around. We want to do the right thing.. but as parents we all know the right thing may not be the best thing or the proper thing to help my daughter.. so what would you do.. if you were in my shoes?

Babysitter & Court

The babysitter had a court date that requires me to be a witness. Long story short.. it’s because of her ex-b/f and the ex-b/f’s new g/f. Apparently, this had been going on since they broke up. It was a case of you said what and she said that .. that ultimately led to me believing that the threatening phone call at the store for her.. was from the new g/f.

Like any adult and a sensible one, you want to stop the whole thing/foolishness because it was plain foolishness. But nope the ex-b/f’s mother and buddy and the new g/f donch wanna let it go. So they hurled each other to court. Obviously, we want to side with the babysitter since we’ve known her for 4.5yrs. So i lugged chloe along to court.. and had to close the store for abit .. so that PB can send me to court .. to be the witness of everything.

Whole day wasted .. that’s alright by me.. but the next day.. when i asked the babysitter to cancel her guitar class to let me finish up my work that i didn’t do because i had to go to court.. well, lets just say she didn’t. So i rushed home .. took care of chloe first of course.. and waited till almost midnite.. before i started working on my online assignments.

I wasn’t mad.. but very disappointed lor. oh well.. kids. I have to remember have the tidak apa attitude from now on. I told PB to smack me hard on the head.. the next time.. i try to do good for anyone and yes i was late for my assignments and i’m never late. So the advertiser had flagged me and won’t be giving me so much assignments no more.

What A Week!

My babysitter is sick again..!!! in between her technical and vocational schools guide for her university application .. and a court case.. with regards to her ex-b/f .. i think she must have had been stressed out again. But having said that.. all our plans went topsy turvy.. and plus we had to deal with some stupid “ang moh” customer .. who thinks that they can scam us. Long story.. but what a tiring week.

Snow End Of March 2009

I had PB’s tuxedo out for the hospital gala’s – a huge event here in our small town. As small business owners… and just about anyone living here, we feel that it is very important.. that we are involved in charitable work. But at the end of March.. yesterday ..we had snow on the ground.. !!!!!! *slap forehead* .. ! when is the warm coming..?? I promised myself to write this down.. so i know.. and wouldn’t hope too much for the sun.. and warm next year. The weather is crazy here.. one day warm.. and one day snow.. or raining. Suxs big time..!

Nightmares

Poor Chloe .. woke up at 1.40am with the same kinda nightmares again..! this time.. it wasn’t so long the crying.. but PB carried her and walked her around.. the whole time. She then want to stay in the tv room tonite..so PB gotta sleep on the couch with her. Bummer..!

Be Careful What You Wished For

With Chloe being so sick for so long, I had wished that I was the one sick instead of her. And guess what..?? after 8 months of having my hysterectomy done.. and an emergency laporoscopic surgery due to bowel obstruction (so they said) .. i started spotting today. Of course, that freaked me right out.. afterall, where is the blood coming from right..?? Of course, i went into a paranoia mode.. which is understandable. So be careful what you wished for eh. I will update all about my situation .. in the meantime, i am just taking it easy. And yes, i have an appt .. to see my “new” gynae .. on the 17th Mar.

Still On The Floor

Yes.. 4 nites in a row.. and i’m still on the floor. But last nite.. was the last..!!!! my back screams for help..!!!!!! Yes.. ! each nite.. she would wake up at 3.48am.. and give me all sorts of excuses. The first nite.. i can understand.. because she was all stuffed up.. but last nite.. was pure silliness. I really donch mind sleeping on the floor.. if it wasn’t so cool.. and drafty on the floor.. or if it wasn’t so hard on my back. Nope.. i donch have a single mattress to lay down.. therefore.. it’s hard. We’ll see what happens tonite.
