Chloe had been spending time @ her grammie’s & grampie’s – and while she was out there – she had lots of visits from both her friends from her new school and her old school and of course friends from the store. She doesn’t know she missed all of them – but there is one kid we haven’t seen for a long time now. You see Chloe is really fond of this friend but unfortunately, we have had been making the calls and leaving messages for her friend’s parents for years now. Finally, this year – I decided – I’ve done my part as a friend and it’s up to them if they value our friendship – not like Chloe doesn’t have lots of ppl to play with and invited to play dates and stuff. I rather spend more time worrying about my cholesterol medications then the kid’s friend because she will outgrow the friendship – and she will have other friends as she grows up – so i’m not gonna be too, too worried about it – if this friend of hers doesn’t wanna call. If they are meant to be best buddies in the future – things will just fall into place – but in the meantime, I have no time to worry about it.
School Rules
Chloe came home from school today and apologized for not drinking her apple juice but she also mentioned that she did finish her water though. So i asked her – how come she didn’t drink her apple juice during lunch – in which she replied that her teacher asked her to choose between the water bottle or the juice bottle. I tell yer – this school certainly makes me wonder what is going on – if this nonsense carries on – i would be needing a hair loss cure. Why? because i cannot understand why my daughter cannot bring the apple juice and water into her cafeteria..?? Anyhow, i’m keeping my cool and wait to see what happens within the next few days – in the meantime, I told Chloe that i can put her juice box into her lunch bag – but she said she didn’t wanna upset her teacher *slap forehead*. So you tell me lah.. how come the teacher can upset my daughter .. and my daughter is still so thoughtful and don’t wanna upset the teacher? where got meaning right? “steam rising from my head”
Neighbors
Many of you would know by now that I have a famous neighbor – yes that one. You would think that after pulling a stunt they did like 4.5 yrs ago, they wouldn’t want to have anything to do with us eh. But nope – every time we turn around and when we least suspect – they would smile or say hi to us. I don’t know what they are thinking but if I were to go attack my neighbors because of a picture i had put up on the internet with no intent of evilness nor malice – which could be quickly resolved with a “I’m not comfy – please can you take my kid’s picture down?” but nope – they told me they could sue me for $40K and that they were pissed with me was not called for. With neighbors like that who needs more acne products right?
My other neighbors are great and share the same dislike about a lot of things about this chicken shit neighbor. They let their dog poop in our lawn without cleaning after the dog – they let their cat do the same thing. On top of it – they worked late at night and go on their four wheelers at midnite. You tell me crazy or not ? He mows his lawn at 9pm during the summer and every other day or at least a couple of times a week – come on – how much grass can your lawn have in a few days right? And to do it at 9pm? Your kid no need to sleep – mine does! So what makes them think they can turn around and be nice to us – is not comprehensible. Stay away from us and don’t even acknowledge us pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee…!! crazy ppl we can do without – thank you very much ! we have no time for you and yours!
Small Town
So we had quite a week here, which actually started in December, where our ferry link from USA – Maine to our town was canceled abruptly. Yesterday, even after a rally in the city with representatives from all over Nova Scotia to plead with the Premier and other officers in charge came to a dead end. The Premier office wouldn’t budged. We are not directly affected but the nonsense that came with this ferry thing and the letter by our own town councilor trying to kiss butts with the Premier sure sent me fuming. What good is a town councilor when he goes and do his own thing to try and be part of the “old boys”? It really made me sick to my stomach – I know politics is dirty – but even for such a small town and someone whom I had elected..?? time to get some moving quotes I said to the spouse because what hope is there – no airlines, no ferries – what next? they gonna dig out the highway?
Bring It On .. Winter..!
While someone I know is not having much success with his job search, we had our tires changed to winter tire this afternoon. The tire shop was darn busy – there was no short of work there. Yes..! they were darn expensive.. close to $700 for the 4 winter tires after taxes.. but not much one can do.. especially if you don’t know what winter is gonna be like from year to year.
We had to change it .. because the all seasons one that we’ve just put new this year – was skidding so back during the last snowfall a few days ago, i was really afraid. Plus, we are heading to the city for my eye doctor’s appt in the New Year – more so must make sure the tires are somewhat good ones. So .. i feel safe tonite.. when we were on the road. Bring it on Winter..!!!
New Doctor For Chloe & I
In late November, our family doctor left his practice here for Toronto. I saw him the last time during his last week in town and he was upset that I haven’t gone for my blood test and saw him sooner – so her refused to apply for subsidy for my diabetic medication. He said i was not serious about my health ! I didn’t wanna be rude – because the truth was – i didn’t wanna see him nor his secretary too much unless absolutely necessary. Not only is he blunt – he had bad bedside manners. He was not good with Chloe and didn’t say the appropriate thing to a kid at all – especially one that he saw only when she wasn’t feeling good. I guess it was his way of telling me off – that i didn’t kowtow to him .. while he was around..??
Anyhow, we didn’t think we would be getting a new family doctor so soon – but we did – today the clinic from around here called and took Chloe and I in immediately. You see – i was smart – even though his “awesome” secretary told us that we cannot call and register our names in on other clinics before he left his practice – i still went ahead and left name everywhere – as soon as we found out that he was leaving.
I don’t know if the new doctor will be any better but having a doctor is better than not having one eh..?? and with this new doctor, i am gonna try to stay as professional as possible – and not even acknowledge him in public. Because our ex doctor – can’t even show any compassion of any kind and his “awesome” secretary was so plastic – even my old toy doll beats her in facial expression.
Bladder Infection
We had been really busy for the whole week – not only with birthday parties.. but Chloe had gotten sick from a bladder infection .. and a cold. Luckily, it was all within a week and she is all better today.. but we had kept her away from others.. since we didn’t want anyone to catch her cold. But nope.. she doesn’t have H1N1 – so don’t go spreading rumors now.. hahhahaha!!! it was just a common cold.
But my purpose of writing this is to let parents with small kids like mine know that if your kid complains that her peepee is burning .. when she pees.. do not wait.. but go straight to the doctor.. or in our case emergency room. We had waited.. for a day.. because she had complained about this before.. and it just went away the last time. But to see our family doctor .. who was leaving on that week .. wasn’t the most ideal situation .. but he did prescribed anti-biotics after a urine test.. and she felt better only the next day.
Had we not waited.. she wouldn’t have to wait for 3 days before getting the anti-biotic, she was in so much pain – it was horrid. Therefore, parents, if your kid has a burning sensation or itches.. go to the doctor like NOW!
Doctor Situation
We’ve always had a doctor situation here in our town. Doctors come and go.. when they sorta finished their contract here.. and they move to greener pasture. But how to blame them right..?? afterall, what is there here.. for them..??
A check with other clinics in town .. that we had put our name in for waiting list today.. didn’t looked good at all. Looks like other doctors were leaving too. Like i said.. i don’t blame them .. but did they really have to do it all at the same time..?? the 1000s of ppl here left without a family doctor!!! Darn these doctors.. and you think they are supposed to be serving the ppl for a greater cause. Oh well..!! so the emergency room again .. we have to go.. and with the H1N1 situation.. one donch even know what to think. I just hope that our next doctor don’t turned out to be insensitive and the secretary isn’t the same either – now that would sux big time. But in the meantime, i need to stay positive.. and look forward to a better doctor.
PS : PB has an appt with his family doctor in the next few days.. and i had asked him to go beg his family doctor to take Chloe in .. hahhaha!!! like go on his knees if he needs to.
Protecting Your Kids
I’ve often wonder how some parents would allow their young kids to roam the streets on their own. I’ve often wonder .. what these kids are gonna grow up to be. I’ve also often wonder if putting chloe in this school is the right decision but having said that.. we really had no choice.. because it’s zone accordingly, there are no free directories, like in other parts of Canada.. where you can send your kids to a private school if you can afford it.
As a parent, I sometimes wonder – how does these kids survive ..?? how do these parents do it..?? Very often, i hear of parents going out for the nite.. and having a party.. with just about anyone coming to their homes. Yes, I’ll have to admit .. i’m not that popular .. neither is PB. We have very little friends.. and we like it this way. Why..?? mostly, it’s because we are very busy.. and secondly, the investing on the time can be very stressful at times.
As parents, we want our kids to be in the “good crowd” .. but is there a “good” crowd..?? Even the doctor’s kids can bully another doctor’s kid in high school – according to reliable sources. So how do one protect your kids..?? you can’t be with them 24hrs a day.. they have to go to school right..?? Something came to our attention last week about Chloe and one of her school mate – lets just said.. kids can be evil too. As parents, creating awareness is very important. As parents, it’s utmost important to listen to your kids and spend time daily to chat with him or her. It is very important to be there for him or her.. when they need you.
I’m glad that i’m spending more time with Chloe these days.. else i may not have found out what happened of late at school. Of course, as a parent, i do not wish this upon anyone.. therefore, I’m telling all parents out there.. that there are some kids who comes from “different” type of family, therefore, it’s important for you to be vigilant, it’s important that as parents.. we have to open our eyes and ears.. and gently bring across awareness. Working and gaming is important.. but nothing is more important then your kids, should anything happened to your kids.. and you could have prevented it.. by spending less time at work.. and gaming, you would lived to regret it. So dads .. who are into gaming.. spend more time with your kids.. and less them on the computer or console systems.. and moms.. less facebook.. and more time with your kids too. Don’t lived to regret it.. because they are only this age once.
Indulging
Owning a business.. and having a kid.. doesn’t really make much room for indulging on yourself. I, for one.. cannot bear to buy imitation stuff.. nor inferior quality stuff – don’t get me wrong, not that .. i’m so “atas” .. it’s just me.. if it’s not quality stuff.. i rather.. not get it. But when i saw this recently at Mark’s Warehouse, I just knew i had to get it.. because it was made of real leather .. and so soft. A lot more pricier than most of my gloves.. but i bought it anyways.
So why am i indulging now..?? For the last few weeks, I had been kept busy taking care of Chloe and working out a routine.. so that I can be at the store.. and come home with her .. when she is done school. Now that we are pretty comfy with our new routine, i can now relax a little and pamper myself too. With our new routine.. I don’t have to spend so much time online .. so it works out for Chloe, since she needs more help with her school work now. So from now on.. i can indulge myself .. a little every month .. muahahahha!!! i’m eyeing on something from Etsy .. for Christmas.. but i can’t decide yet.. because whenever i am buying something for myself.. i need to keep checking that it’s the one i really one .. before buying them – what about you ..??
