Muahahah!!!epic! I am gonna frame this up and put this in our cottage , so that everyone can have a good laugh. How candid is this? and so much like us at home and at work.
But what I loved most is what Chloe wrote at the back of the drawing. I love her to bits.
I’m happy that we are parents who encourages our child to get as much exposure to many different things and try various hobbies. Even though both PB and I are very busy, we still try very hard to send chloe for various activities. Alternatively, chloe has her aunt to fetch her to and fro from various venues.
Well, I can’t exactly say she is a baby anymore – afterall, she is in Grade 5 and almost 11 years old now. Yes, this year she is in Grade 5 and she is very excited about it too. Same teachers from last year, so I’m sure she will do well with the teachers. She also begin her piano classes the same week she starts school. I’m glad I’m in town the week she starts school , for next week I have to be in Seattle.
Time has flown ! and we have to say that she is growing up to be a fine young lady. She is a lil’ sassy, a lil’ bratty and a little naughty at times but hell! she is a whole lot good too. So weighing the good and the lil’ bad – I say, she is doing pretty good for a 10.5 yrs old.
The summer has gone by so fast this year, it’s crazy! and since we haven’t really done much for the kid, except for traveling for my work, thanks to Youtube for all the sponsorship, we decided that we should go to Upper Clements Park just for a day for her. Chloe was so excited that she couldn’t sleep the night before and woke us up like several times during the night.
The kids had a really good time, poor me, I had to walk up a hill, and I told PB that he and Chloe must be trying to kill me to replace me for a younger version of me … hhahahaha!!! We were there for like 5.5hrs and went to visit our cottage after that to cool off, so all in all, we spent the entire day out. The kids were exhausted and slept all nite without waking up that nite.
PS: I noticed that this year, Chloe would go on more rides than she did last year, so I’m hoping by next year, she will be more ready to do more things in Disney in Florida.
Yes, we finally bought a real piano for Chloe in Halifax because she had been taking lessons for more than a year now and attended her first recital this year before summer. And since she is so good at it, we figured we should buy her a real piano. Truthfully, I didn’t think that an acoustic piano would be so expensive, I was planning to spend like $3500 on it but an entry level acoustic cost about $6500 tax included. But it is an investment and PB didn’t bat an eyelid paying cash for it.
Of course, he too wanted something from the guitarcenter since he was buying chloe such an expensive “toy” , he feels he deserved another one in his collection too. Well, i didn’t stop him of course, after all he worked so hard for them and he is entitled to spend some money as long as we don’t use our credit card and use our line of credit. Everything has to be paid in cash and that’s how I am teaching my kid. If you cannot afford your toys, then don’t buy them.
The summer had been going so well for all of us , from store front to home front. Chloe is enjoying her summer camp and looking forward to art classes both at the Yarc and the art gallery. She has several play dates a week and is quite popular of late. And this morning, we saw Pinot and Augustine who will be performing at the Yarc. Chloe said she didn’t mind watching them at the Yarc, so we booked tickets for the show on Friday.
She continues practicing her piano and reading daily even though it is summer holidays and we shall start with some Grade 5 school work with papers that we received from a friend in Halifax. We looked forward to August because we will be traveling quite a bit for my work as well as squeezing in a short holiday with Chloe.
At the store front , we have a friend who is helping us out when we are on vacation this year and we are so happy about it. I know that PB will be able to relax because this friend is pretty smart when it comes to manning the store. Thus far, he is the only person who didn’t need a lot of training.
We are also spending our weekends at the cottage and just last week, the neighbor at the cottage stopped his truck to say how beautiful we’ve turned the cottage into. But the cottage is not even completely renovated yet, we still have work to do. Wait till he sees the inside when everything is done.
Did I also mentioned that someone from the United States wants to buy an acre of land from us at the cottage for $80K? yup ! you heard right! and right now, we are negotiating the price because the piece of land is right by the beach. So yes, simply joyous! cannot ask for more.
So Chloe had handed me a list of teachers and TAs and staff from school she wanted to thank. And if you know my Chloe, you will know how much she enjoys school except for the first year with her french teacher and the little boy who keeps touching her bum from another school. Subsequently, we never had any trouble and she enjoys all her teachers very much. Chloe is always grateful for all the attention that her teachers gives her and those given to her by Mr Purdy her principal as well as Mrs Rose, who takes care of her lunch everyday.
She listed all the reasons why she wanted to thank everyone on her list and she even reminded me that she wants to thank Mrs OB because she is her favorite teacher. She loves her current teachers as well, Mrs Eyre and Mrs Bridgeo and have nothing but good things to say about her teachers. She loves her TAs Ms Holly and Ms Patsy because of them, she is able to concentrate in class while they take care of other students. This year, she also has a french teacher – Mdm Rhyno and Chloe just adores her – Chloe said that because of Mdm Rhyno , she loves her french.
I am so grateful for all of Chloe’s teachers, past and present and of course the librarian and Mrs Rose, who is a friendly face to Chloe when she is in school. They all make attending school so much fun for Chloe and she loves school so much, you can never find another happier kid than Chloe when it comes to going to school.
Every year we try to do a little something for all these special educators, I know we don’t do enough to show how much we appreciate them but we try every year. From the bottom of our heart, we want to thank them for helping Chloe grow into a wonderful kid, because of them, Chloe will be a fine young lady in the future.
I have a wonderful father-in-law, not only does he grows baby bok choy for me because I missed veggies from home, he does all the cool stuff for Chloe, like building chloe first swing for her and now another one in his house. We even had our own camp fire , so that Chloe can roast her marshmallows.
Chloe had so much fun and so did I. I loved going out and enjoying the fresh air, minus the bugs and mosquitoes.

Yes, school had been interrupted since last week Thursday. There was an oil leak in Chloe’s school and we were called to pick Chloe up from school earlier than usual. Subsequently, we found out that school had to be closed due to health reasons and while some kids may love it, Chloe is so bored, I don’t even know what else I can do with her today.
We’ve gone thru’ her geometry test, we’ve done extra work with her piano recital, her grampie bought her a skate board, she had been doing bracelet with her rainbow loomz for her bracelet business. Done paintings for her painting business, helped clean the store, helped clean the house, played with her cousins. Gone for a haircut, been to the cottage, yes, just about everything.
We are also worried if she will catch up with the rest of her school work intended for this year since there isn’t any plan for summer school for the missing time. But I’m sure the school and her teachers are just as worried and will do their best to help make up for the lost time. But truth be told, I don’t mind if Chloe had extended classes during the summer, whatever it takes to make sure she gets to cover her entire school curriculum without having to rush thru’ it because of time constraint.
But I’m pretty sure that her teachers know what they are doing and the part of me being the helicopter mom is creeping up. hhahahha!!
Yes, a package from Gap came for Chloe from her Godma in Toronto. Yes, more clothing for Chloe for the summer I believe. We didn’t open it immediately but I had forgotten to take pictures of all the clothes that came for Chloe because we were busy testing out to see if it would fit her alright. Chloe is very blessed ! presents every week. need I say more.
